The Code of Conduct for Aged Care module is designed to introduce aged care workers and managers to the new Code of Conduct for Aged Care, came into effect on December 1, 2022.


The module outlines the role and responsibilities of the services, workers, and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. In this module, we will look closely at the various elements of the Code, and understand what workers must do to adhere to these elements. We will also look at some examples of what might constitute a breach of the Code.

  • Understand the reason for the introduction of the new Code of Conduct for aged care.
  • Identify who all must follow the Code and how it applies to each individual at aged care workplaces.
  • Outline the requirements for all the seven elements of the draft Code.
  • Explain how these requirements apply to the work of the individuals who work with old people at age care.
