After completing this module, you will be better able to:
- Describe what medication management means and the rules that guide it
- Understand your role, rights, and responsibilities in providing medication assistance
- Demonstrate how to safely support the individual to take their own medicines as directed in the care plan
- Apply the Eight Rights of Medication Administration
- Differentiate between prompt and assist levels of support
- Recognise and respond to contingencies such as refusals, side effects, or mistakes with the right actions and reporting
- Respond to and prevent medication errors
- Apply safe storage disposal requirements for medicines in the home
- Document medication support accurately according to organisational requirements
