Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the rights of consumers in relation to medical administration in like with the strengthened aged care quality standards.
2. Know when choice and control applies to consumers who wish to self-administer or refuse to take medications.
3. Work actively to improve compliance and clinical outcomes across the standards, including reducing the risk of medication errors, managing pain and minimizing chemical restraint.
4. Understand training and support processes to deliver quality outcomes of medication administration and follow requirements in relation to open disclosure and antimicrobial stewardship.
