Food and Hydration

‘Food and hydration’ is to ensure residents have enough nutrition and hydration to maintain life and good health, and reduce the risks of malnutrition and dehydration.
In this course you will learn:
  •  Understand the differing nutritional needs of older people
  •  Identify the signs of malnutrition and dehydration
  •  Provide examples of how good nutrition and hydration can be supported in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards
  •  Identify ways to maximise appetite and improve the safety and enjoyment of food
  •  Recognise special dietary requirements to meet cultural and medical needs of older people
