Welcome to the Epilepsy and Seizure Support (High Intensity Training Series) module.
If you are working in the disability sector, it is highly likely that you will be supporting someone who has Epilepsy and may witness a number of seizures in your workplace.
This module provides a basic introduction to Epilepsy and how to support someone who has the condition.
By the end of this module, you will be better able to:
- Describe what epilepsy is and how it affects the brain
- Identify the types of seizures and triggering factors
- Apply key epilepsy management skills to support the participant
- Provide first aid in the event of a seizure
- Document seizures or incidents effectively
This module offers an introduction to the theory. It is advised that the learner complement this with a practical demonstration.
